Itinerary:
You’ll be picked up from your hotel or cruise in Luxor and transferred in a private, air-conditioned tourist vehicle to the East Bank of the Nile for a fascinating cultural experience.
We begin with a visit to the Luxor Museum, inaugurated in 1975, which houses a remarkable collection of high-quality artifacts from Ancient Egypt. Among the highlights is a stunning green schist statue of Pharaoh Thutmose III, one of Egypt’s greatest warrior kings.
Next, we continue to the Mummification Museum, dedicated to one of the most iconic arts of ancient Egyptian civilization—the art of mummification. The museum features one of the oldest preserved mummies, that of Amun from the 21st Dynasty. You’ll also see a striking gold representation of Anubis, the god of embalming, traditionally depicted as a jackal. This symbolism was later adopted by the Greeks.
